SMS Text Message Consent & Terms
Scott Law Group — Estate Counsel communicates with prospective and current clients via text message for scheduling, case status updates, and follow-up, and separately offers an opt-in program for general firm updates and educational content. This page explains what we send, how to opt in, and how to opt out at any time.
Messages We Send
When you provide your mobile phone number and consent to receive texts, you may receive the following types of messages from Scott Law Group (short code or local number):
- Appointment reminders and scheduling confirmations
- Follow-up after a free case review request
- Case status notifications (current clients only)
- Document or information requests related to your matter
- Responses to questions you initiate by texting us
Message frequency varies based on your case activity. We do not send promotional blasts or general marketing messages through this number — see below for our separate, opt-in firm-updates program, which uses a different number.
Firm Updates & Educational Messages
Separately, if you download a guide or resource from our website, sign a fee agreement with us, or otherwise opt in, you may also receive text messages with general legal information, firm news, and updates about Louisiana estate and succession law — not tied to an active case. These messages come from a different phone number than our case-communication texts described above, and opting in is entirely optional.
Message frequency varies, typically no more than a few messages per month. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of these messages specifically — this will not affect the case-communication texts described above, or vice versa.
